Melancholia

Using flowing fabric and desaturated colours I house a melancholy world, a place where myself and many others often become trapped in. Whilst for some the matter of soul searching is a positive endeavour, many of us are plagued by less constructive alternatives. I wish to shine light on these bleak times and rather than give hope, allow the viewer to embrace them and accept them. Though we are taught to avoid feelings of depression and desperation they are often unavoidable and can be overwhelming. This side of my art is not meant to cause despondency, but allow us to sit with it and reflect.
